he Caucaseco Scientific Research Center gathers a consortium of research institutions that have a history of over 20 years in biomedical research with special emphasis on human malaria. The members of this consortium include, among others, the International Vaccine Centre (CIV), the Primate Center Foundation (FUCEP) and the Center for Clinical Research and Molecular (ASOCLINIC) which have a significant history of research funded by the government of Colombia through the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (COLCIENCIAS) and international funding agencies such as WHO, EU, IAEA and NIH.

Caucaseco was established in 2004 with support from the program of the Center for Research in Tropical Medicine (TMRC for its acronym in English) sponsored by the NIAID. Administrative activities required for the development of TMRC showed the need to create a more robust and comprehensive organization so CIV, ASOCLINIC, and FUCEP joined to form the Caucaseco Scientific Research Center (Core A), which provides laboratories, facilities to house animals, transport services, accounting, quality control, and communications, among others.

The Consortium for Scientific Research is a strategic alliance created for scientific strengthening and a range of services for diagnosis and medical research and environmental analysis in Colombia. It is composed of the International Vaccine Centre (VIC), The Primate Center Foundation (FUCEP), the Applied Biotechnology Center (CBA), the Caucaseco Scientific Research Center (CIC) and the Clinical Laboratory Immunology Asoclinic Ltda Foundation.

The consortium is dedicated to biomedical research, offers diagnostic services and the development of projects with multiple groups and research centers worldwide for vaccine development and drug testing. It also promotes undergraduate and graduate teaching through agreements with Universities in Colombia and / or worldwide.

The Consortium is dedicated to scientific research, sample processing, specialized clinical laboratory environmental testing and analysis through implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality program assurance based on the following principles:
